How to Get Exclusive 2023 Pokémon World Championships Gastrodon, Tatsugiri

Pokémon has just announced that players will be able to receive a commemorative version of both Gastrodon and a Tatsugiri that learns the move “Celebrate”

For a limited time, Nintendo will be sharing through a distribution code a commemorative Gastrodon for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. This Pokémon is a replica based on Eduardo Cunha's Gastrodon that brought him the 2022 VGC World Championships title. This Gastrodon has the ability Storm Drain and the following moves: Icy Wind, Protect, Earth Power, Yawn.

Players who want to have this special Gastrodon will be able to do so from August 11th to August 13th through a specific distribution code that will be revealed during the 2023 Pokémon World Championships broadcast. After this period, the code will expire.

This isn’t the first time Gastrodon has been chosen for a distribution event. On June 17th, a new distribution code was revealed for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet for an East Sea Gastrodon based on the one used by 2022 Pokemon Trainers Cup Champion Wonseok Jung.

The second Pokémon that will be available only during the World Championship is a special Stretchy Form Tatsugiri. In contrast to Gastrodon however, this Pokémon will only be available to players who attend the Pokémon World Championships in Yokohama as well as the first 10,000 participants in the Worlds Fantasy Team. As of now, there is no other way to receive this unique Pokémon.

This Tatsugiri has the ability Commander and the following moves: Draco Meteor, Muddy Water, Helping Hand, and Celebrate. It will also be carrying a Big Nugget and be marked with the exclusive Event Ribbon.

Nintendo has already done local distributions such as this one with the most recent one being the Michina Town Pichu which was given to players at the South Korean screening of Arceus and the Jewel of Life from May 31st to July 31st.
