Carl Banks Believes Giants QB Daniel Jones Getting Hit Too Much Could Have "Shellshocked" Him

Carl Banks reveals how Daniel Jones taking too many hits could have negatively impacted his judgement.

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones has taken a ton of punishment in his career. The signal caller has been sacked 179 times since entering the league, and even took 11 sacks in one game last season.

Jones taking so many shots could be why is unsure of himself, and Carl Banks questions wether or not the multiple injuries have led to the Giants QB developing a shellshocked behavior while on the field.

"And the other thing to Bob is his mental state, right? He's been beat up and I don't I don't have any doubt that he'll go out and he'll compete. And but when the lights come on and the bullets start to fly, is he PTSD? Is he traumatized? Is he having flashbacks? Right? Is he shell shocked because he took a lot of punishment and it impacted his judgment in the game? And that's not that's not an excuse. It's fair and it's not a lie. You know, when people say, well, you know, Daniel just can't do this and you blame everything on the offensive line. Well, that's how it works in the NFL quarterback to have time, make good judgments. Quarterbacks get hit a lot, they make bad judgments."

Banks is alluding to Jones potentially having developed a poorer mental state about his offensive line not hold enough for him not to get hit. Any QB that deals with loads of punishment often can develop poor judgment for fear of being hit again.

However, Jones is as tough as they come. He holds strong in the pocket and can still deliver throws, and that is what makes him highly prasied by his teammates and coaches.
