Glover Quin Pushes Back on Lions Dan Campbell's "Only Chance" Comments

Former Detroit safety Glover Quin disagrees with head coach Dan Cambell that this was the Lions' only shot at winning.

The Detroit Lions are coming off a heartbreaking collapse in the NFC Championship game this season that saw them lose a 17-point halftime lead. But, it was the first time in over 31 years that Detroit had won a playoff game, so there is reason to be hopeful.

However, after the game head coach Dan Campbell revealed that he told his players that this may have been their only shot at winning the title. It's hard to win in the NFL, so Campbell does have a point.

But former Lions safety Glover Quin disagrees with the assessment of Campbell. He spoke with Jack Cavanagh and pushed back on the "only chance" comments from Campbell.

WHY LIONS CANT BE DESTINATION SPOT

"Dan Campbell. You know, it came out last night that he said told the guys, guys, this may have been our only shot. Right. That is a true statement. It may have been took us 30 years to to get to this point right. I hope they got the mentality of, why not become the beast of the north, right?"

"Aaron Rodgers ruled the division for a long time, right? And every year he was in the playoffs, ya know fighting for that one seed almost every year, winning one playoff game and you’re right back in the NFC championship. Every year. Why that can’t be the Lions right now.”

Detroit has the foundation in place to get back to the NFC title game, and this time change the outcome. This team is hungry for more after going this far, and they now want more for themselves.

Quin also noted that this newfound success should only help with that quest. Potential free agents will now be looking at Detroit as a viable option as opposed to how they've been in the past.

"Once you create that culture, now in free agency, players probably want to come, so it’s a little easier to get better players in free agency."

The Lions are in a good place right now, and they have a bright future. It won't be easy for them as they are now going to be targeted, but the way Campbell coaches this team, they wouldn't want it any other way.
