Metcalf: Browns Joe Flacco May Only Play A Few Series Against Bengals

The Browns may only play Joe Flacco a few series this weekend as they give him some rest before their playoff run.

The Browns have already clinched a playoff berth and are locked into the wild card, with the Ravens claiming the AFC North title. Eric Metcalf and Max Loeb talked about how Cleveland should approach this week’s matchup with the Bengals on The Dawg Check podcast.

“I think they will treat it like a preseason game. If he does, in fact, play, he might play a series or two just to see if he can get some timing with receivers,” said Metcalf. “I could see him playing a few series and then getting him out of there and throwing PJ (Walker) in.”

The Browns will make their first playoff appearance since 2020 in head coach Kevin Stefanski’s first year with the team. Joe Flacco has made the Browns a contender again after they struggled at quarterback when Deshaun Watson went down for the season.

The Browns are seven-point underdogs to the Bengals this weekend, according to BetOnline.
