Lynx announce 2024 schedule, home opener May 17

Season will have a month long break for the Olympics

The Minnesota Lynx will play back-to-back games against the Seattle Storm to open the 2024 season, starting May 14 in Seattle followed by Minnesota's home opener May 17.

The WNBA unveiled the 2024 schedule Monday and it includes the fourth year of an in-season tournament, the Commissioner's Cup, and a break for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

The Commissioner's Cup will feature each team playing five conference games in early June, counting towards the regular season record, with two teams advancing to the championship June 25.

Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve will then head up Team USA during the four-week Olympic break from mid-July to mid-August.

Minnesota will play the two-time reigning champion Las Vegas Aces four times in 2024, hosting the first game May 29. The Lynx will travel to Vegas June 11 and Aug. 21 before hosting the final game Aug. 23.

Minnesota will get their first chance at avenging their 2-1 playoff series loss to Connecticut on May 23 when the Sun host the Lynx.

The Indiana Fever, who will pick No. 1 in the upcoming WNBA draft, will visit Minnesota twice, July 14 and Aug. 24. Iowa's Caitlin Clark and UConn's Paige Bueckers are favorites to be taken with the first overall pick.

The Lynx will play three of their last five games on the road against 2023 playoff teams. In fact, only three of their last 10 games are at home and they'll wrap up the regular season Sept. 19 against the Los Angeles Sparks.
