Wednesday's game between the Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty in Brooklyn has been postponed due to poor air quality in the New York area. The unhealthy air is the result of smoke blowing through the region from massive wildfires that are raging in Canada.

The WNBA's announcement reads: "The game between the Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty originally scheduled for 7pm/ET tonight has been postponed due to the air quality issues impacting the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and the greater New York area following the wildfires in Canada."

The photo at the top of the story is a view of the Empire State Building on Wednesday afternoon, with the orange glow caused by limited light penetrating the veil of smoke in the sky.

At 1-6, the Lynx dropped six games to start the season before defeating Washington 80-78 last weekend. Their next scheduled game is Friday at home in Minneapolis against the Indiana Fever.
