The Seattle Storm used a dominant third-quarter performance to hand the Minnesota Lynx a 97-74 loss in their season opener on Friday night.

The Lynx hung tough throughout the first half with a Seattle team that has the fourth-best odds to win this year's WNBA championship per FanDuel Sportsbook. When the second half began, however, the Storm proceeded to take control of the game.

Seattle outscored the Lynx 34-14 in the third quarter and was led by a balanced attack. The Storm had four players score in double figures including Breanna Stewart and Jewell Lloyd, who led Seattle with 17 points each.

Although Sylvia Fowles led Minnesota with 16 points, Aerial Powers was the only player to score in double-figures. The Lynx also shot 4-for-21 on 3-point attempts as they slumped to a season-opening loss.

Minnesota will look to rebound in their home opener when they host the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday night.
