Minnesota United has signed Finnish forward Teemu Pukki to a two-year Designated Player contract.

Pukki, 33, is the latest in the club's attempt to fill the hole left since it traded striker Christian Ramirez in 2018.

The 5-foot-10 forward is the leading goalscorer for the Finnish national team.

Pukki joins Minnesota after five seasons with English club Norwich City, where he scored 88 goals and 28 assists in 210 appearances in the Premier League and the second-tier Championship.

"With Teemu, we’re adding an incredible guy and an incredible pro, which is something that’s important to us," said Minnesota United Technical Director Mark Watson.

"On the field, it’s pretty simple: he’s an elite goal scorer. I think he’s got a lot more to his game than that. He’s a really good soccer player and he can hold the ball, bring others into play."
