At just 29 years old, Minnesota native Chase Roullier announced Wednesday that he is retiring from the NFL.

"Two years ago, I would have never thought I'd be writing this right now," said Roullier. "But in those two years, I have seen two major injuries, two invasive surgeries, two multi-month couch ridden times, two rehabilitation marathons, two tall mental hurdles to climb, and two of everything else in-between."

The Burnsville native was drafted in the sixth round by the Washington Commanders in the 2017 and played six seasons in NFL. Before that, he was one of the best offensive guards in the country at the University of Wyoming, where he played three seasons alongside current Buffalo Bills superstar quarterback Josh Allen.

Roullier fractured his fibula in Week 8 of the 2021 season before suffering an MCL tear in Week 2 of the 2022 season. Those are the two invasive injuries he mentioned in his retirement announcement.

At Burnsville High School, Roullier was a First Team Associated Press All-State selection and part of the annual Star Tribune All-Metro First Team as a senior in 2011.
