Timberwolves' Tuesday game against Denver bumped from TNT

Was the game moved so TNT could get LeBron James possibly breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's scoring record?

A change to Tuesday night's start time between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets has knocked the game from TNT's national broadcast schedule.

The Timberwolves announced Thursday night that the game time has been moved to 8 p.m. CT (7 p.m. in Denver) after originally being scheduled at 9 p.m. CT.

No reason was provided for why the start time was changed, but the educated guess is that it was moved to give LeBron James a national audience in case he breaks Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all time scoring record on Tuesday night.

The Lakers host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night and that game is replacing the Wolves and Nuggets on TNT. LeBron is 63 points from becoming the NBA's all-time leading scorer.

LeBron and the Lakers face the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday. That game is on ESPN2. Even if LeBron doesn't break the record Tuesday night, TNT will get another chance Thursday night when they televise the Lakers-Bucks game. And if he doesn't do it Thursday night, ABC is televising LA's next game on Saturday, Feb. 11 against the Golden State Warriors.

Anyway, fans will still be able to watch the Wolves and Nuggets on their local Bally Sports channel.
