Watch: Jimmy Butler owned the LA Clippers in the 4th quarter

The veteran achieved something only 6 other Timberwolves have done.

You might have missed this while reveling in the Vikings' eighth straight victory – but Jimmy Butler is good at basketball.

The veteran put on a dominating show against the Clippers Sunday, scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter alone (and 33 for the game) to get Minnesota the 112-106 victory.

The Wolves were up just 2 going into the fourth quarter, and Butler fended off any Clipper comeback with his signature style: gritty drives into the paint, with acrobatic finishes.

And thank the internet Gods for YouTube, because you can watch Butler's incredible performance even the day after. Watch all his highlights here (via FreeDawkins on YouTube).

Butler is the 14th player in the history of the Timberwolves to score at least 20 points in a single quarter, the Wolves' PR team tweeted.

But he's only the seventh to do it in the fourth,

Check out his shot chart:

As mentioned above, Butler dominated in the paint, going 5-for-7 from that area in the fourth. The Clippers had no way to stop him.

For the 28-year-old veteran, it's his highest scoring mark in a Minnesota uniform, and maybe a sign he's looking to be more assertive offensively for the team going forward.
