Wolves, Lynx announce KFAN as new radio flagship

Wolves ended a 12-year partnership with WCCO-AM earlier in September

The Timberwolves and Lynx announced KFAN as the new home for Wolves and Lynx radio broadcasts.

As part of the new partnership, KFAN will become the organization’s new flagship radio station for select Timberwolves games and a majority of Lynx games starting with the 2023-24 season. The Timberwolves were previously on KFAN from 1991 to 2011 before the team switched to WCCO-AM for the past 12 years.

Earlier this month it was reported the team was leaning towards a "super non-traditional" way to broadcast games.

In the new agreement with iHeartMedia the team will have a 24/7 Timberwolves streaming channel featuring unlimited team content. Game broadcasts will be available three different ways via the Timberwolves app, iHeartRadio app and select games on KFAN 100.3.

Longtime Timberwolves play-by-play announced Alan Horton will return for his 17th season.

The Timberwolves renewed their  partnership with Learfield IMG College to expand reach with affiliate partners throughout Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
