Twins hitting coach James Rowson is heading to the National League.

According to MLB insider Jeff Passan of ESPN.com, Rowson is heading to the Miami Marlins to be their bench coach and offensive coordinator.

Rowson, who was hired in 2017 under former Twins manager Paul Molitor, was one of the few assistant coaches who was retained when Rocco Baldelli was hired last winter.

There's no doubt Rowson had a big influence on the Twins' offense that set a major league record of 307 home runs this season.

Also with the Twins winning 101 games, other assistants under Baldelli will be interviewed for jobs. Bench coach Derek Shelton is getting a second interview for the New York Mets managerial opening, according to the New York Post.
