Yankees announcer Michael Kay, Alex Rodriguez set to call Twins playoff games

"I believe we're going to be in Minneapolis for whoever the Twins play."

The Twins just can't escape the Yankees in the playoffs, even when New York doesn't make the postseason.

Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay as well as current Timberwolves co-owner and Yankee legend Alex Rodriguez look set to be the ESPN announcing crew for the Twins playoff series next week.

On the latest edition of the Baseball Tonight podcast, ESPN's baseball reporter Alden Gonzalez said: "I believe we're going to be in Minneapolis for whoever it is that the Twins play."

Gonzalez will be the reporter on Kay and A-Rod's announcing crew.

The Twins most likely won't know their playoff opponent until the final day with the Wild Card spots still up in the air in the American League.

The last time the Twins and the Yankees met in the postseason in 2019, Kay was derisory about the 101-win Twins after they were swept by New York.
