Cam Bynum issues plea as wife is stuck in Philippines due to visa issues

"If anybody out there can help with the visa process, I greatly appreciate it."

Moments after his game-sealing interception Monday night, Vikings safety Cam Bynum asked for help getting his wife's visa issues sorted out.

"My wife, she's in the Philippines, working on her visa, it's been getting denied," Bynum told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "If anybody out there can help with the visa process, I greatly appreciate it."

In a statement on social media, Bynum said his wife is unable to come to the U.S. until her spousal visa is granted. "We’re going on 2 football season of no games for her. We’ve been denied a tourist visa twice so far," added Bynum.

Bynum is of Filipino descent through his mother and runs a charitable foundation supporting families in the Philippines.

"Let's get his lady here. Let's get her here," Bynum's teammate Harrison Smith said on The Pat McAfee Show Tuesday. "She's only going to be here a few months anyway. She goes back to the Philippines after the season."

Bynum intercepted 49ers QB Brock Purdy twice in the Vikings' 22-17 win Monday night. The 25-year-old safety has the fourth highest defensive grade among safeties this season, according to Pro Football Focus.

A fourth-round pick by the Vikings in the 2020 draft, Bynum became a full-time starter in 2022 and he's blossomed into one of the game's top safeties this season.
