Joe Buck tells SKOR North Diggs call is his favorite of all time

"That's always my favorite football call because it's a walk-off moment."

Stefon Diggs' walk-off touchdown catch in the 2017 "Minneapolis Miracle" is one of the most exciting moments in the franchise's history and of storied broadcaster Joe Buck's career.

In an appearance on SKOR North Monday ahead of calling the Vikings game against the Chicago Bears Monday night, Buck said the Diggs catch against the New Orleans Saints was "easily the most exciting singular moment that I've ever been a part of calling games for now on 30 years."

"That's always my favorite football call because it's a walk-off moment," Buck said, who uttered the now famous line: "Diggs! Sideline! Touchdown! Unbelievable!"

"You don't really get that very often in football, compared to baseball. In that moment, I think the instinct for Diggs was unbelievable because he made that catch and then you're thinking 'Ok they got a shot at the game-winning field goal' and he turns around and nobody's there."

Buck has been calling NFL games at the national level since his hiring by FOX in 1994 at the age of 25 where he was a part of numerous notable moments in NFL history. Along with his longtime broadcast partner Troy Aikman, Buck moved to ESPN ahead of the 2022 season to takeover the Monday Night Football broadcast booth.

Among a career of memorable moments, one specific moment sticks out that he would like to have back pertaining to the Vikings and a certain Randy Moss.

"I hear the Randy Moss thing. I feel like it's kind of a cloud that follows me around when I'm up here. I know people think about it and I get it," Buck said.

Buck infamously called the 2004 wild card game between the Vikings and Packers at Lambeau Field. Early in the fourth quarter, with the Vikings up 24-17, Daunte Culpepper lofted a pass up to Moss for a 35-yard touchdown.

Moss celebrated the touchdown by running up to the goalpost and pretending to moon the Packers crowd. Buck drew Vikings fans' ire when he said on the broadcast, "That is a disgusting act by Randy Moss. And it is unfortunate that we had that on our air live. It is disgusting by Randy Moss."

"I mean, I'm a fan, if there's one team I can be a fan of it's the St. Louis Blues. If somebody said that from the national side, said that about my guy, no matter what was going on, I wouldn't like it," continued Buck. "I hear that back and it gives me a little bit of a jolt because I'm like, 'Man, I can't believe that's what came out of my mouth.' But I have to live with that. I'm not saying regret it but it feels a little over the top. It's just how you react in the moment. . . If it were today, I don't think those words would come out of my mouth."

Buck went on to point out that him and Moss have since become good friends and now coworkers at ESPN.
