Jordan Addison issues apology for speeding incident
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison issued an apology on Friday night after he was cited for speeding early Thursday morning.
"Yesterday morning I made a mistake and used poor judgment," Addison said in his statement. "I recognize and own that. I am going to learn from this and not repeat the behavior. I am truly sorry."
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Addison was pulled over on Interstate 94 in St. Paul after driving 140 mph in his Lamborghini Urus around 3 a.m. on Thursday. No charges were filed and no one was injured in the incident, though he was cited for speeding and reckless driving.
The Vikings selected Addison with the 23rd overall pick in this year's NFL Draft after a stellar college career at Pittsburgh and USC. After winning the Biletnikoff Award as the nation's top receiver with the Panthers in 2021, Addison transferred to USC the following season and saw a drop in production but still ranked 14th among qualifying receivers with 2.99 yards per route run.
Addison missed a majority of the offseason program with an undisclosed injury but is expected to be ready when rookies report to training camp on Sunday.
