Kirk Cousins is moving fairly well without the aid of crutches as he continues his recovery from surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles in his right leg.

The Vikings quarterback, who was injured Oct. 29 against the Green Bay Packers and underwent surgery just days later, walked to center court at the Rosemount High School gymnasium on Friday and led the Vikings' famous Skol chant.

Chris Harder, the longtime Rosemount cross-country coach and former Minnesota Golden Gophers runner, captured video of the moment Cousins walked into the gym, followed by stunned students going crazy.

Details about Cousins' appearance at the school aren't totally clear, but the 35-year-old quarterback bought a home in Rosemount, which is southern suburb of the Twin Cities, after signing with the Vikings in 2018.

Cousins joked at the time that he wasn't very fond of Rosemount's football helmet, which is nearly identical to the helmets worn by the Michigan Wolverines. Cousins attended Michigan State University, so the Michigan rivalry is always fresh in his mind.
