The Minnesota Vikings may be catching the San Francisco 49ers at the right time but according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, they won't be getting a break from Christian McCaffrey as all signs are pointing to McCaffrey playing against the Vikings on Monday night.

McCaffrey suffered an oblique injury in the fourth quarter of the 49ers' loss to the Cleveland Browns last week and did not return to the game. Although he missed the first two days of practice this week, he practiced in a limited capacity on Saturday and was listed as questionable on the team's official injury report.

If McCaffrey plays, it will be bad news for the Vikings. McCaffrey has been an early MVP candidate this season, running for 553 yards and seven touchdowns while also adding 23 catches for 177 yards and two touchdowns.

Although the 49ers will be without Deebo Samuel, who is out for at least the next two games with a shoulder injury, and left tackle Trent Williams is doubtful with an ankle injury, McCaffrey is the engine that drives San Francisco's offense and could make the Vikings' upset bid more difficult on Monday night.
