Vikings fans looking to get a piece of the Green Bay Packers won't have to wait long in 2020 as the Star Tribune's Ben Goessling reports that the Vikings will open up the upcoming season against the Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sept. 13.

An opening matchup against the Packers would create some franchise history as Goessling pointed out that the Vikings have never opened a season against Green Bay at home. On the flip side, the Vikings have opened their season at Lambeau Field six times.

The report adds to several that have popped up as the NFL prepares to release its 2020 schedule on Thursday night.

In addition to the Vikings potentially hosting the Packers in Week 1, the Vikings will also play on Christmas Day for the first time since 2005 according to a report from The Athletic's Jeff Duncan.
