Vikings WR Trishton Jackson avoided ligament damage

"He's sore but looks like he's going to be ok."

The injury bug that hit Vikings training camp Tuesday looks to have spared receiver Trishton Jackson from a serious injury despite him needing to be carted off the field.

Vikings offensive coordinator Wes Phillips provided an update on the injury Wednesday, saying: "Looks like the news on Trishton Jackson... looks like we avoided anything serious. No ligament damage there. That was really encouraging for all of us, including Trishton. He's sore but looks like he's going to be ok."

By all accounts Jackson had been having an outstanding camp in year three with the Vikings. The 25-year old receiver has been on the Vikings practice squad the past two seasons and was with the Rams in 2020 when Kevin O'Connell took over as the Rams offensive coordinator.

The Vikings lead running back Alexander Mattison took part in the Vikings' walkthrough Wednesday afternoon having sat out padded practice on Tuesday.
