Watch: Dalvin Cook gets a hero's welcome at Jets camp
Dalvin Cook is still a free agent but after Sunday, it might be a big surprise if he doesn't sign with the New York Jets.
Cook paid a visit to Jets training camp in Florham Park, N.J. on Sunday morning and was given a hero's welcome by Jets fans who chanted his name and pleaded for the four-time Pro Bowler to sign with their team.
While Cook didn't throw on a Jets jersey and run into practice like a WWE return, he did make his way to greet his potential new teammates including quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday morning that interest is high on both sides as Cook looks to find a new team after his release from the Vikings last June. Speaking on ESPN's NFL Live on Saturday, Cook also revealed that Rodgers' arrival in Gotham is a big reason for his interest in the Jets.
"Everybody knows what you're getting with Aaron Rodgers," Cook said. "Going to play with a guy like that and the caliber of quarterback that he is, it speaks for itself. I've been on the other side of that for the last six years so just knowing the type of player that he is, I'm excited about it."
Cook has not officially signed with the Jets, but NFL Network's Peter Schrager pointed out that other free agents such as offensive tackles Duane Brown and Morgan Moses have visited Jets camp as free agents in the past and ultimately signed with the team.
Cook is looking for a large financial commitment in his new deal but if the price is right, Cook could be wearing green (although not that shade of green) this fall.
