Watch: Surprised Kevin O’Connell scratches head at Josh Dobbs’ scrambling TD

"He just pointed and... I don't know what just happened."

Stunned and scratching his head was Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell after Josh Dobbs' jaw-dropping touchdown run against the Saints last Sunday.

A teaser clip from Inside the NFL shows Kevin O'Connell sending in the play call to Dobbs, then telling his new quarterback to run if he gets the chance.

"If it presents itself, you go ahead and take it. Okay?" O'Connell says.

On 3rd-and-6 at the 7-yard line, Dobbs took shotgun snap and stepped into a collapsing pocket before being forced to run off to his left. Dobbs put on the afterburners as he scrambled past Saints defenders to put the Vikings up 16-3.

O'Connell's reaction, as shown in the clip with audio from the field: stunned and literally scratching his head.

With Dobbs coming back to the Viking sideline, O'Connell can be seen smiling and giving his QB a high five.

"He just pointed and... I don't know what just happened," said O'Connell.

To be fair, neither did the Saints.

Dobbs finished the game with 268 passing yards and one touchdown, in addition to 44 yards on the ground and the scintillating touchdown to help the Vikings stretch their winning streak to five games.

Minnesota travels to Denver to take on Sean Payton's Broncos Sunday night, with kickoff set for 7:20 p.m. CT.
