Matt Boldy's second hat trick in the past eight days fueled a 5-1 victory for the Minnesota Wild over the Seattle Kraken Monday night in St. Paul.

After Jacob Middleton's goal gave the Wild a 1-0 lead in the first period, Boldy continued his torrid stretch of play with his first goal of the night on a power play at 5:38 of the second period.

A little more than nine minutes later –and while Marc-Andre Fleury stopped everything that came his way – Boldy scored again to put Minnesota ahead 3-0.

And then just 50 seconds into the third period Boldy completed the hat trick.

Boldy, 21, is up to 28 goals this season, including 11 in the last nine games. Those nine games have all been without Kirill Kaprizov, who was injured March 8 against the Winnipeg Jets.

Boldy's 28 goals ranks second on the team behind Kaprizov's 39.

Minnesota is 15-1-4 in the last 20 games and with 95 points they lead the Central Division by three points over both Colorado and Dallas, which sets the stage for a big showdown in Denver Wednesday night when the Avalanche host the Wild.
