Dallas Stars troll Minnesota online after blowout win

Dallas embarrassed the Wild on the ice and then had fun with fans on social media.

The Dallas Stars mopped the ice with the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul on Sunday night and then as an encore they trolled the State of Hockey by showing an incredible awareness of what's happening in Minnesota.

After the 8-3 thumping in which seven of the eight goals came on the power play or shorthanded, the Stars official account on X (formerly Twitter) trolled Minnesotans with a post that mocked Minnesota's search for a new state flag.

"BREAKING: The new Minnesota state flag just announced!" the post reads, with a photoshopped submission of the Stars logo. And if you're paying close attention, you'll notice the fake submission number is D093, a fairly obvious taunt about the North Stars relocating to Dallas in 1993.

Minnesota is in the process of adopting new designs for the official state seal and the official state flag. This past week, Bring Me The News documented many of the most incredible (funny) citizen submissions for the flag design. You can see them here

The troll job by the Stars is well done and most Wild fans seemed to take in stride on X, which makes sense because Wild fans who weren't laughing Sunday night were probably crying after an embarrassing home loss.
