Wild surrender a 3-goal lead to the Dallas Stars
The Wild let a three-goal lead slip away to the Dallas Stars on Tuesday evening for what might be their most deflating defeat of the season in a 6-3 loss.
Dallas, arguably an even bigger disappointment start to the season than Minnesota, picked up just their fifth win scoring six unanswered goals to complete the comeback.
Minnesota got off to a hot start with two first-period goals from Jason Zucker and Eric Staal. Both players are now up to four goals on the season.
This prompted Stars head coach Jim Montgomery to pull starting goaltender Ben Bishop for backup Anton Khudobin between periods.
Wild defenseman Ryan Suter then made it a three-goal game on the power play for his second of the season.
However, the Stars made things interesting, as they finally got on the board in the final minutes of the second period pulling within one goal.
Finally in the third, Dallas completed the comeback with goals from Roope Hintz, Joe Pavelski, Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov scoring twice more securing his second career hat trick.
Wild goaltender Alex Stalock, who looked sharp through two periods, took the loss while stopping 32 of 37 shots on goal.
With the loss, the Wild fall to 4-8-0 and will play the St. Louis Blues on the heels of a back-to-back with Devan Dubnyk expected to start after missing the last week with an upper-body injury.
