Wild trade Pat Maroon to Bruins for Luke Toporowski, sixth-round pick
The Wild continue to be sellers at Friday's NHL trade deadline.
Pat Maroon was traded Friday to the Boston Bruins for forward Luke Toporowski and a conditional sixth-round pick
Maroon was signed in the offseason with the hopes his veteran leadership could help the Wild squad get over their playoff hump. With Minnesota seven points out of a wild card spot and with just 19 games left in the season, that looks unlikely to happen.
Maroon registered 16 points, four goals and 12 assists, in 49 games for the Wild but has been out since late January with a back injury.
The veteran winger underwent back surgery in early February and is expected to be available for the Bruins near the end of March. Boston are one-point off the top spot in the East.
Toporowski, 22, is a left-handed who has yet to break through to the NHL. Toporowski has played in 96 games and recorded 46 points, 22 goals and 24 assists, in the last two season with the Bruins' AHL-affiliate the Providence Bruins.
It comes just a day after the Wild traded Brandon Duhaime to the Colorado Avalanche for a 2026 3rd-round draft pick.
