Army football players involved in drug overdose, per report

Two members of the U.S. Military Academy were involved in a situation in which six people overdosed on fentanyl-laced cocaine during Spring Break, according to a report from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
One of the cadets involved is an Army football player.
Two of the six people at the scene were in critical condition, emergency officials said. Another Army football player was present at the scene, according to reports, but was not hospitalized.
After using the drug, two people at the scene suffered cardiac arrest. Two others had enough fentanyl in their system to cause a potential overdose. Paramedics performed mouth-to-mouth in an effort to revive those victims.
West Point said its officials are "aware of the situation involving West Point cadets, which occurred Thursday night in the community of Wilton Manors."
The school also noted, "No other details are available at this time."
Two of the critically ill people were on ventilators, while two others were in stable condition. Another was in good condition, and one was released from the hospital.
Fentanyl is an extremely addictive and powerful painkiller which is responsible for an increasing number of fatal drug overdoses.
The drug is the leading cause of overdose deaths in the United States.
