Longtime college football coach Calvin Magee suffered major heart attack: report

The college football coaching community got some tough news as long-time coach Calvin Magee suffered a major heart attack, according to FootballScoop.

Magee, 59, has been coaching college football since 1996, starting at South Florida as tight ends coach before he landed at West Virginia, where he was offensive coordinator and assistant head coach, and then at Michigan as offensive coordinator.
Over the last decade, Magee has worked at several programs, including Pittsburgh and Arizona as associate head coach, offensive coordinator, and running backs coach.
Magee landed at Ole Miss as tight ends coach in 2019 and he spent the 2021 season as running backs coach at Duke before taking a position at Jacksonville State as offensive coordinator, associate coach, and tight ends coach.
