The ongoing college football realignment process took another major turn with under a month to go before the season as Oregon and Washington are expected to leave the Pac-12 to join the Big Ten, not long after Colorado announced its intention to return to the Big 12 ahead of next season's kickoff.

The moves increase the Big Ten to a proposed 18 teams and puts the existence of the Pac-12 in serious question with more schools expected to pack up and leave, too. Colorado head coach Deion Sanders reacted to the situation by saying what everyone across the country already believes.

“All of this is about money,” Sanders said on Friday.

“You know that. It’s about the bag. Everybody’s chasing the bag. Then you get mad at the players when they chase it. How is that? How do the grownups get mad at the players for chasing it when the colleges are chasing it?”

There's no question that as more money pours into the pockets of colleges and their administrators that there will be more calls in the future to define football players and other athletes as employees, which would forever change the game.

As for Sanders and Colorado, all they want to do is win.

“I don’t care nothing about no different teams moving. We’re trying to win, man. I don’t care what conference, who we’re playing. We’re trying to win,” he said.
