Watch: Ref hit in face by pass in Week 0 San Diego State vs. Ohio college football game

One of the highlights of the Week 0 college football slate involved a play that didn't go in the record books, but just might leave a mark on a referee, who was accidentally hit in the face by an errant throw made by a San Diego State quarterback.
Jalen Mayden was escaping some pressure and moving out of the pocket when he went to throw the ball away, but instead plastered an official right between the eyes.
Ouch 😳

That just might leave a mark, but there was no harm intended. Just chalk it up to an occupational hazard.
