The Baltimore Orioles are one of the best stories in baseball in the early going of the season. After being the plucky underdog who stayed in the playoff race all the way to the end last year, Baltimore is now 24-13, just took two of three from the Tampa Bay Rays, and has the second-most wins in the American League.

One of the main reasons for Baltimore's success? A dominant back end of the bullpen that includes Yennier Cano, who made some interesting baseball history recently.

From @OptaSTATS on Twitter:

Yennier Cano of the @Orioles has a WHIP of 0.16 in 14 appearances this year. That's the lowest WHIP by any MLB pitcher over any span of 14 appearances in the modern era (minimum 50 outs recorded).

The Modern Era refers to anything after 1900 so what Cano is doing is incredible. In 18.2 innings this season, Cano has struck out 22. He's only allowed three hits and hasn't allowed a walk. He's got six holds and three saves as well.

The Cuban native made his debut last year and struggled to an 11.50 ERA in 13 games. Talk about offseason adjustments...He was acquired in a deal last August with the Minnesota Twins. That trade sent closer Jorge Lopez to Minnesota at the trade deadline.

The Orioles have an off day today but will travel to Pittsburgh on Friday to take on the Pirates.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and Kyle Bradish will pitch for Baltimore against Johan Oviedo.
