San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. made history on Friday night, becoming the first player ever with multiple two-home run games against Dodgers star Clayton Kershaw.

Wearing the Padres 'City Connect' jersey, Tatis Jr. had home runs in both the third and fifth innings, as of this posting. You can watch the second home run here.

It was a two-run homer to left field and came on a cutter on the inner half of the plate.

Since coming back from a PED suspension at the end of April, Tatis Jr. is hitting .276 with four home runs and nine RBI. He's posted a .828 OPS over 58 at-bats.

One of the premier players in baseball before his suspension, Tatis Jr. made his major league debut in 2019. He played 84 games that year for the Padres, hitting 22 home runs while stealing 16 bases. In the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, he hit 17 more homers and then in 2021, he hit 42 homers to lead baseball and added 25 steals. He helped the Padres get to the playoffs in 2020 as well.

They advanced to the National League Championship Series in 2022 without him, where they lost to the Philadelphia Phillies.

As for Kershaw, his future is set: Cooperstown. The top lefty of his era, he's won an MVP, a World Series title (2020), five ERA titles, three Cy Young awards and is a nine-time all-star. He's also won a gold glove award.

At the time of this posting, the Padres lead 4-1 in the top of the seventh inning.
