The Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday afternoon by a score of 9-6 and will go for the sweep of their division-rivals on Sunday.

In the game, Astros third baseman Alex Bregman accomplished something that no player in modern baseball had ever accomplished before.

From @OptaSTATS on Twitter:

Alex Bregman of the @astros is the only MLB player in the modern era to draw 4+ walks in a game while hitting a grand slam in his only official at-bat.

Bregman's grand slam came in the bottom of the fourth inning off of Jacob Webb and gave the Astros a 7-1 lead at the time.

Bregman is one of the centerpieces of the Astros modern-day baseball dynasty.

The 29-year-old was the No. 2 pick in the draft out of LSU in 2015 and made his debut in 2016.

Since then, he's helped the Astros win the World Series in both 2017 and 2022. He's a lifetime .275 hitter with 148 career home runs. He is a two-time All-Star, a Silver Slugger winner and has received MVP votes in three different seasons.

He led baseball in doubles in the 2018 season and in walks in the 2019 season.

This year, he's hitting .251 with eight home runs and 36 RBIs.

The Angels enter play at 30-30 while the Astros are 35-23. Both teams trail the first-place Texas Rangers in the American League West. Houston was a heavy favorite to win the division in the preseason, but that's not the case anymore, according to the Fanduel gambling website. Houston is now plus-200 and the Rangers are minus-175.

The Astros and Angels finish out their series on Sunday afternoon at 2:10 p.m. ET. Griffin Canning goes for the Angels while JP France pitches for Houston. The Astros are favored, according to Fanduel, at minus-145.
