Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Mookie Betts added to his own personal history on Wednesday afternoon against the Washington Nationals. 

As of this posting, Betts has two home runs, which is the basis for the accomplishment.

Betts led off the Dodgers half of the first inning with a home run off of Patrick Corbin and then homered again in the eighth off of Kyle Finnegan.

At the time of this posting, the Dodgers trail the Nationals, 8-6.

Betts is having another big year for Los Angeles, which entered play in first place in the National League West. He's hitting .252 with a .358 on-base percentage. He's socked 13 homers and has driven home 33.

For his career, he's a .291 hitter with a .368 on-base percentage. He has 226 career big flies.

Acquired by the Dodgers before the 2020 season, Betts is one of the best players of his generation. 

He's a two-time World Champion (2018, 2020), a six-time All-Star, a six-time Gold Glover, a batting champion, a five-time Silver Slugger and an MVP.

If the Dodgers go onto lose this game, they'll fall to 34-23 on the year. If the Nationals win, they'll go to 24-32.

LA entered the game at 1.5 games up on the Diamondbacks while the Nationals were in last place in the National League East. They entered 9.5 games out of first.
