The Los Angeles Angels lost to the Colorado Rockies on Friday night, 7-4, thanks to an Angels bullpen meltdown.

It was not the fault of superstars Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, who each hit home runs in the loss.

The duo also joined the top of a fun list in Angels home run history.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani have hit back-to-back HR for the 9th time, tying Trout and Albert Pujols for the most by a duo in Angels history.

That's impressive for Trout to be on the top of both of those lists, and for Ohtani to join him so quickly (he's only been on the Angels since 2018) speaks to his greatness as well. The Angels have had several good power hitters, even in the last 20 years so to not see Jim Edmonds or Tim Salmon, Troy Glaus or Garrett Anderson at all is also interesting.

Ohtani went 3-5 in the loss and is now hitting .298 on the season. His 25 homers lead baseball while his 59 RBIs are third behind Rafael Devers (Red Sox) and Adolis Garcia (Rangers).

Trout went 1-4 with the homer and he's hitting an even .250 for the year. Despite the average being just that and the strikeouts piling up, Trout is still a great power threat. He has 16 homers and 40 RBI while registering an OPS of .832.

With the loss, the Angels are 41-36 and seven games back of the first-place Rangers in the American League West. They are also 0.5 games out of a wild card spot currently.

They'll play the Rockies at 9:10 p.m. ET on Saturday.
