Seattle Mariners rookie right-hander Bryce Miller turned in another dominant outing on Saturday afternoon against the Detroit Tigers, making some very impressive team history in the process.

With a seven-inning, three-hit, no-run, no-walk, three-strikeout performance, Miller now has surrendered the fewest earned runs through the first three starts of a Mariners career, surpassing Felix Hernandez.

Gary Hill of the Mariners broadcast team tweeted the following:

Fewest ER allowed in first three career starts for the Mariners (minimum 5 total IP)

1. Bryce Miller 1 ER 19 IP

2. Félix Hernández 2 ER 21 IP

Any time you can surpass Felix Hernandez in anything, you're doing something right. Miller has been a revelation for the Mariners, helping keep the team afloat in the wake of Robbie Ray's season-ending injury and Chris Flexen ineffectiveness as a starter.

His ERA is now 0.47 on the season. He has 18 strikeouts in those 19 innngs.

At the time of this posting, the Mariners are leading the Tigers 3-0. If the M's can hang on for the win, Miller will improve to 2-0 on the season.

The Mariners have gotten home runs in this game from Jarred Kelenic, who connected on a two-run shot, and Teoscar Hernandez, who hit a solo blast.

It was the eighth home run of the year for both players, who are tied for the team lead.

The Mariners and Tigers will wrap up their series on Sunday afternoon before the Mariners head off to Boston and Atlanta for consecutive three-game series.
