Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider was on another level Monday night against the Miami Marlins.

Strider struck out 13 batters in an 11-0 Braves win. He also carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning before losing it on a single by Marlins third baseman Jean Segura.

In striking out those 13, Strider made a little Braves history as well.

The Braves tweeted out the accomplishment:

"@SpencerSTRIDer has fanned at least nine batters in each of his last nine starts, dating to last season. The run is the longest active streak in baseball of at least nine strikeouts, and surpasses John Smoltz's franchise-record run of such starts set in 1997. #ForTheA"

Smoltz is a National Baseball Hall of Fame member so anytime you can pass him in anything, that's an accomplishment. Here's a look at the streak in greater detail for Strider.

TONIGHT vs. MIA -- 13 strikeouts

April 18th @ San Diego -- 9 strikeouts

April 12 vs. CIN -- 9 strikeouts

April 6 vs. SD -- 9 strikeouts

April 1 @ WAS -- 9 strikeouts

Sept. 18, 2022 vs. Philly -- 10 strikeouts

Sept. 12 @SFG -- 9 strikeouts

Sept. 7 @ OAK -- 9 strikeouts

Sept. 1 vs. COL -- 16 strikeouts

The last time that Strider didn't record nine strikeouts or more was last August 26th against the Cardinals, when he had seven strikeouts. He's out a phenomenal start in his young career. He finished second in the National League Rookie of the Year voting last year, behind his teammate Michael Harris II.

He went 11-5 last year with a 2.67 ERA and helped the Braves win the National League East. Right now he is 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA. He's struck out 49 batters in 30 innings.
