All the focus on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field was on the Tampa Bay Rays and their pursuit of history, but the Boston Red Sox managed to make a little history of their own in the 9-7 loss.

The loss, which dropped the Sox to 5-7 overall, was the 12th consecutive for Boston at Tropicana Field.

According to Ian Browne of MLB.com, this is the first time the Red Sox have lost as many as 12 consecutive games at one road venue since Aug. 4, 1964-May 7, 1966 in a stretch of 17 straight defeats at Metropolitan Stadium against the Twins.

The Red Sox haven't won in Tampa since April 22nd of last season. Here's a look at the losses that predate that last win.
