The Naylor Brothers Made Some Fun History in Cleveland Guardians Comeback Win on Wednesday

The Cleveland Guardians rallied from five runs down on Wednesday night to beat the Chicago White Sox at Progressive Field. In the win, Josh and Bo Naylor made some fun history as they both hit home runs.

The Cleveland Guardians rallied from five runs down on Wednesday night to beat the Chicago White Sox, 7-6, at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

Down 5-0 in the third inning, Cleveland scored three runs in third and then solo runs in the fourth and fifth to tie the game. The White Sox took a 6-5 lead in the top of the 10th but the Guardians walked them off on a game-winning single from Bo Naylor.

Both Bo Naylor and brother Josh Naylor hit homers in the victory, putting them into multiple classes of fun "brother" history.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com on social media:

The Naylors are the 13th pair of brothers to homer in the same game all-time as teammates, the 9th to do it at least twice! (h/t ):

Justin & B.J. Upton, 6 such games
Jeremy & Jason Giambi, 4
Wilton & Vladimir Guerrero, 4
Tommie & Henry Aaron, 3
Paul & Lloyd Waner, 3
Josh & Bo Naylor: 2
Edgar & Adrian Gonzalez, 2
Billy & Cal Ripken, 2
Billy & Tony Conigliaro, 2
Adam & Andy LaRoche, 1
Jose & Bengie Molina, 1
Matty & Jesus Alou, 1
Matty & Felipe Alou, 1

Ironically enough, the feat was accomplished on "National Sibling Day." Who writes that script?

Furthermore, Langs added this nugget as well:

Bo + Josh Naylor’s 10th-inning heroics are the 3rd time one brother had a game-tying RBI & another had the game-winning RBI, both in the 9th inning or later, Expansion Era (1961), joining:

4/6/2013 Uptons (B.J. tying HR, Justin walk-off HR in 9th)

9/7/1988 Ripkens (Billy tying single, Cal walk-off groundout in 9th)

Josh Naylor is now hitting .333 on the season while Bo Naylor is hitting just .194.

The Guardians are now 9-3 and will start a series with the Yankees on Friday at 7:10 p.m. ET.
