The New York Yankees beat the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night by a score of 4-2.

The win moved the Yankees to 16-15 on the season while the loss dropped Cleveland to 14-16.

In the victory, Yankees rookie sensation Anthony Volpe went 2-4 with a home run and two stolen bases. With the two stolen bases, Volpe joined a unique club in Yankees history.

Chris Kirschner, who covers the Yankees for 'The Athletic' tweeted this after the win:

"Anthony Volpe is just the fifth Yankee to have 10 stolen bases in his first 31 career games, joining Yankees legends Bert Daniels (1910), Cozy Dolan (1911), Fritz Maisel (1913) and, of course, Brett Gardner (2008)."

I can't say that I've ever heard of Cozy Dolan or Bert Daniels, and I'd imagine most of our readers haven't either. The most important part is that Volpe is doing something that hasn't been done in 15 years and has only been four other times in the last 100 years. Anytime you can do that, that's pretty special.

Volpe is hitting .230 on the season with three home runs, nine RBI and the 10 stolen bases through exactly 100 at-bats. He was the 30th overall pick in the major league draft back in 2019. He hails from New Jersey.

In the last seven games, Volpe is hitting .292 to boost that average. He's 7-24 in that time.

The Yankees are currently in last place in the American League East, behind the Red Sox (16-14), Blue Jays (18-12), Orioles (19-9) and Rays (24-6).
