After being ejected on Tuesday night in Toronto, New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German has officially been suspended 10 games by Major League Baseball, per Jon Heyman.

Heyman adds that he's also been fined and will not appeal the suspension. This is exactly what happened with Mets starting pitcher Max Scherzer, who was suspended in April for use of 'sticky stuff' as well.

It's another blight on the resume of German, who has also served a suspension for violating the league's domestic violence policy (2020-2021).

This year for the Yankees, he is 2-3 with a 3.75 ERA. He's struck out 49 batters in 48 innings and has a 0.90 WHIP.

For his career, he's 28-24 in 101 games with a 4.31 ERA.

Because of the suspension, the Yankees also cannot replace German on the roster, and will need to play a man down for those 10 games. Luckily, the team is getting back starting pitcher Luis Severino this weekend, so he can help keep the rotation in tact during German's absence.

The Yankees haven't gotten one inning out of Carlos Rodon or Frankie Montas this year, so another absence from a pitcher is certainly not a welcome development.

The Yankees entered play on Wednesday at 25-19 and in fourth place in the American League East. They are finishing out a series in Toronto on Thursday before heading to Cincinnati for the weekend.

Severino's season debut will come on Sunday morning in a rare 11:35 a.m. ET game at the Great American Ballpark.
