Donald Trump Explains How UFC Star Jorge Masvidal Helped his Presidential Campaign

Donald Trump credited this UFC superstar for his success in Florida.

The 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, attributed a lot of his presidential success in Miami and Florida to his positive relationship with retired UFC superstar Jorge "Gamebred" Masvidal.

Trump revealed his thoughts in an interview with the UFC on July 24:

"Jorge Masvidal --- you know why I love him --- I love people that like me, he liked me," Trump remarked. "He's a guy from Cuba, who got left alone in life at nine years-old.

"...Jorge's a great guy, and he was campaigning for me. ...He was a big fan of mine --- politically --- and I'll tell you, it had a big difference, I did phenomenally well in Miami and in all of Florida with the Hispanic population, and I credit a lot of that to Jorge, so we love Jorge."

Trump famously endorsed Masvidal prior to his UFC 244 'Baddest Motherf*****' title fight with Nate Diaz on November 3, 2019.

Four years later, Masvidal even dedicated a portion of his UFC 287 retirement speech to Trump, denigrating current president Joe Biden in the process:

"Also I want to say, the greatest president in the history of the world, sitting right there," Masvidal gestured towards Trump in the stands. "I love that guy!" Masvidal continued to spur the Miami crowd to chant "Let's go Brandon", a political substitute for "f*** Joe Biden".

Masvidal started his fighting career in backyard brawls, most notably appearing alongside the late Kimbo Slice in some viral videos. It's clear that Masvidal has enjoyed considerable success. Although he is now retired from competition, he remains a successful business owner and has earned recognition from a former US president.
