Ben Simmons' Official Injury Status For Nets-Celtics Game

Ben Simmons is on the injury report for Wednesday's game.

On Wednesday evening, the Brooklyn Nets will be in Boston to face off against the Celtics. 

For the game, the Nets will be without one of their best players, as three-time NBA All-Star Ben Simmons has been ruled out. 

Via Brian Lewis of The New York Post: "Ben Simmons out as expected, listed with a left knee effusion. He said last night this is purely precautionary. #nets"

Simmons has played in 12 games and is averaging 6.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.5 assists per contest while shooting 59.4% from the field. 

The Nets are the 11th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 21-32 record in 53 games. 

They are 4-6 over their last ten games and are coming off a 118-110 loss to the Celtics (at home) on Tuesday evening.

Simmons had five points, six rebounds and eight assists while shooting 1/5 from the field in 24 minutes of playing time. 

Following the Celtics, the Nets will play their next game on February 22 when they visit RJ Barrett and the Toronto Raptors in Canada. 

As for the Celtics, they are the first seed in the Eastern Conference (and best team in the NBA) with a 42-12 record in 54 games. 

They are 8-2 over their last ten games and are in the middle of a five-game winning streak. 

In Tuesday's victory, Jayson Tatum led the way with 41 points. 

Following the Nets, the Celtics will play their next game on February 22 when they visit the Chicago Bulls.
