Kyrie Irving's Injury Status For Lakers-Mavs Game

Kyrie Irving has been ruled out for Tuesday's game.

On Tuesday evening, the Dallas Mavericks will host the Los Angeles Lakers in Texas. 

For the game, they will remain without one of their best players, as Kyrie Irving has been ruled out.   

The 2016 NBA Champion also missed the team's last game, so this will be his second straight out of the lineup.

Irving got injured during Friday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, and on Saturday, the Mavs announced an update. 

Via Mavs PR on Saturday: "The Dallas Mavericks announced today that an MRI revealed a right heel contusion for Kyrie Irving. Irving sustained the injury in the Mavericks’ game at Portland on Friday. 

Irving has returned to Dallas to begin treatment, and there is no timetable for his return at this time."

Irving has played in 17 games so far this season and is averaging 23.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 47.1% from the field and 38.4% from the three-point range.  

The Mavs are 14-8 in their first 22 games, which has them as the third seed in the Western Conference.  

They are 5-5 over their last ten games but also in the middle of a three-game winning streak.   

Following the Lakers, the Mavs will play their next game on Thursday evening when they host Rudy Gobert and the Minnesota Timberwolves. 

As for the Lakers, they are 14-9 in their first 23 games, which has them as the sixth seed in the Western Confernece.
