Luka Doncic's Injury Status In Pelicans-Mavs Game

Luka Doncic was ruled out for the remainder of Thursday’s game.

On Thursday evening, the Dallas Mavericks hosted the New Orleans Pelicans in Texas.

Unfortunately, their best player Luka Doncic exited the game with a heel injury and did not return.

Via Mavs PR: "Luka Dončić (right heel contusion) will not return to tonight’s game against the Pelicans."

Head coach Jason Kidd will likely be asked about Doncic in his post-game presser.

ESPN's Tim MacMahon reported what happened during the game.

Via MacMahon: "Luka Doncic just looked over toward Jason Kidd and shook his head, indicating he needed to come out. He headed to the locker room. He appeared to hurt his right ankle during a scary fall just before the timeout."

Despite only playing 23 minutes, the four-time NBA All-Star had 31 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.

The Mavs won the game 111-106 to improve to 28-25 in 53 games this season.

Eight players in total (on the Mavs) scored, and Spencer Dinwiddie had 21 points, three rebounds and four assists.

Doncic is in the middle of an unbelievable season and was named as a starter for the 2023 NBA All-Star Game.

Brandon Ingram led the Pelicans with 26 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

The Pelicans (26-27) have now lost their tenth game in a row, which is the longest drought in the entire NBA.

Doncic also had to exit a game last week, but thankfully only missed one game after.

On the season, the 23-year-old has outstanding averages of 33.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 8.2 assists per contest in 47 games.
