Luka Doncic Injury Update Before Monday's Game

Luka Doncic has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

On Thursday evening, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 111-106 at home in Texas.

However, All-Star Luka Doncic exited the game early with a heel injury and missed their last game (a 119-113 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday in California).

Doncic has been ruled out for Monday's matchup with the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City, and it's now been announced that he will also miss Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Via ESPN's Tim MacMahon: "Luka Doncic (heel contusion) will join Mavs in LA on Wednesday but will be out again vs. Clippers. Earliest potential Luka/Kyrie Irving combo appearance is in Sacramento this weekend."

The former third-overall pick is having a phenomenal season with averages of 33.4 points, 8.9 rebounds and 8.2 assists per contest (while shooting 50.4% from the field).

In addition, the Mavs just acquired eight-time NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving from the Brooklyn Nets, so they now have two of the top 20 players in the league.

Last season, they made the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2011, and with Irving (and Doncic), they can now be a legitimate title contender.

Through their first 54 games, the Mavs have gone 28-26, which has them as the sixth seed in the Western Conference.

On the road, they are just 9-17 in 26 games, but at home, they have gone 19-9 in 28 games hosted in Dallas.

According to StatMuse, the Mavs are 22-32 in the 54 games they have played without Doncic since he was drafted.
