Very Disappointing News About Kevin Durant
13-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant has been out since January 8 with an MCL sprain.
Before getting hurt, the former Texas star had been in the middle of a remarkable season with averages of 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.5 blocks per contest.
He is also shooting 55.9% from the field and 37.6% from the three-point range.
Unfortunately, Chris Haynes of the NBA on TNT and Bleacher Report reports that Durant will not play in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game, which is on February 19.
Via Haynes: "Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant (MCL sprain) will not play in the All-Star game on Feb. 19 in Salt Lake City, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport."
This will be the second All-Star Game in a row that Durant has missed.
He was also ruled out for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game because of an injury at this time last year.
Before the Nets played the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night in Brooklyn, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported an update on Durant.
Via Wojnarowski: "With eight days until the All-Star break starts for the Nets, Kevin Durant (MCL sprain) isn’t expected to return to team’s lineup until post-break, sources tell ESPN. Jacque Vaughn told reporters that there’s still no timetable for a return."
The Nets are currently the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 32-21 record in 53 games.
On Monday, they officially traded superstar point guard Kyrie Irving (and Markieff Morris) to the Dallas Mavericks.
Therefore, the roster will be a lot different going forward.
The Nets received Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith (and draft picks) from the Mavs.
