Victor Wembanyama's Official Injury Status For Spurs-Kings Game

Victor Wembanyama has been ruled out for Thursday's game.

On Thursday evening, the San Antonio Spurs will face off against the Sacramento Kings in California.  

For the game, the Spurs will be without their best player, as star rookie Victor Wembanyama has been ruled out. 

Via ESPN's Andrew Lopez on Wednesday: "Spurs say Victor Wembanyama is OUT for tomorrow’s game against the Sacramento Kings with a right ankle sprain."

Wembanyama is in the middle of a fantastic rookie season and is averaging 20.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.4 blocks per contest while shooting 46.9% from the field and 33.5% from the three-point range in 56 games.

That said, the Spurs are in rebuilding mode and are the 15th seed in the Western Conference with a 13-49 record in 62 games. 

They have gone 3-7 over their last ten games and most recently lost to the Houston Rockets by a score of 114-101. 

In 30 minutes of playing time, Wembanyama had ten points, 11 rebounds, three assists and seven blocks while shooting 4/10 from the field and 2/5 from the three-point range. 

Following the Kings, the Spurs will visit Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Saturday evening at the Chase Center in San Francisco. 

As for the Kings, they are the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 35-26 record in 61 games. 

They have gone 5-5 over their last ten games, and following the Spurs, they will remain at home to host Jalen Green and the Houston Rockets on Sunday evening in Sacramento.
