Anthony Davis Made NBA History In Thunder-Lakers Game
On Friday night, the Los Angeles Lakers hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder in California.
During the game, eight-time All-Star Anthony Davis made NBA history as he moved up on the all-time scoring list.
Davis came into the night with 15,605 points, which ranked 129th, and he needed 31 to move ahead of Sam Cassell for 128th.
He continues to move up the list at a fast pace and jumped from 134th to 129th in Wednesday's 122-111 victory over the Phoenix Suns.
The former Kentucky star is one of the best-scoring big men to ever play in the NBA.
He will likely finish among the top 50 scorers of all time and has a career average of 24.0 points per contest.
The next player for Davis to pass will be Antoine Walker (15,647), which he should be able to do on Sunday afternoon when the Lakers host the Chicago Bulls.
He is in his fourth season playing for the Lakers and helped them win the NBA Championship in 2020.
Before the Lakers, the 30-year-old spent the first seven seasons of his career with the New Orleans Pelicans (he was the first pick in the 2012 NBA Draft).
Davis finished Friday's game with 37 points, 15 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 36 minutes of playing time.
The Lakers beat the Thunder 116-111 to improve to 37-37 in 74 games on the season.
They are now on a three-game winning streak and 21-17 in the 38 games they have hosted on their home floor.
